I am a self taught photographer who has experienced many of life's challenges. I live on the Rosebud Indian (Lakota) Reservation, located in south central South Dakota. Being a two time survivor of cancer and various chemo centers, I know that I am lucky to still be here. Also, since I live in an area that is economically and socially challenged (the county I live in has been deemed one of the poorest in the United States), I have a life time of experience that has seen many highs and many lows in regard to human existence.
The Boneshirt Studios name is the Lakota name of my friend, Joe Rivera. Joe recently left this earth and with the time I have left, I will dedicate my work to his memory. He was a good friend.
